The Grand Chariot Big Dipper 135° has 23 guest rooms reminiscent of a cocoon, with skylights over 5 meters high offering a truly spectacular view of the sunrise and starry sky. Meals are overseen by Yamashita Haruyuki, Japan’s leading master chef, who owns 13 restaurants both in Japan and overseas. Guests can enjoy dishes made with ingredients from Awaji Island, a treasure trove of food that has supplied the Imperial Court as “Mikkoku.”

Under the supervision of Chef Yamashita Haruyuki, Hyogo Prefecture’s Food Advisor, you can enjoy dishes made with ingredients from Awaji Island, a treasure trove of food that has long been known as “Mikkoku” (Land of Food) and has supplied ingredients to the Imperial Court.

Guests can enjoy a new Japanese cuisine course overseen by Haruyuki Yamashita, who owns 13 restaurants both in Japan and overseas, including Tokyo Midtown. Yamashita has been selected as a Master Chef for two consecutive World Gourmet Summits, which bring together the world’s top chefs, and embodies “new Japanese cuisine” that makes the most of the life and breath of ingredients.

The ingredients include Awaji beef, which only 200 cattle are caught on Awaji Island each year, “upside-down sea urchin” (sea urchin from Yura) which can only be served because of its freshness, and sukiyaki made with plenty of vegetables such as onions and tomatoes from Awaji Island.You can choose your favorite menu depending on the season. *Ingredients may change depending on the season.

The highlight of staying overnight is breakfast, which begins with Grand Chariot’s “Morning Set Meal,” followed by grilled fish from the Setouchi Sea and the specialty “Awaji Rolled Egg” served with freshly cooked Awaji Island rice.
